The membership campaign is a very important part of The Arc of East Ascension. The support of the community assists our efforts in providing quality services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. The money generated by membership helps to provide continued services, education and training. 

 

Membership gives people in our community the opportunity to assist in various ways both directly and indirectly. Members can contribute by serving on various committees or on our Board of Directors. As a member, you play an important role in The Arc of East Ascension, and you qualify to vote for candidates seeking Board appointment. During the annual meeting, members in good standing are eligible to run for office or vote on future Board of Directors members. The Board of Directors is a vital part of the planning and direction of The Arc of East Ascension. Members who are dedicated to the well being and the needs of The Arc of East Ascension are very important to the future success of this organization.

 

Membership encourages the community to stay involved with The Arc of East Ascension’s purpose and directive by advocating for the individuals we serve and the services we provide. The Arc of East Ascension is a non-profit organization providing services and activities to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Very few all-inclusive activities are available in the community to include people of all abilities. The Arc of East Ascension plans activities throughout the year, but funding is needed to ensure they continue. Our activities keep our individuals active and aid in adding structure to their daily lives. The Arc of East Ascension activities include our well-known dances as well as outings for community activities.
